Graham Alexander felt his side's performance did not deserve any more than a point, after City were held to a 1-1 draw by Salford tonight.
The City boss was not pleased with his side’s efforts in front of goal, feeling they should have done better with some of their chances.
He did, however, on reflected, feel a draw was a fair result, as neither team deserved all three points points.
“I think we deserved a fair point from today,” he said.
“Both teams had periods where they were slightly on top.
“There was not a lot of quality on the pitch from either team.
“It was another early goal we conceded, which was disappointing.
“But we responded well and got a goal back.
“At half-time I was happy with the 1-1 scoreline, but we needed to show more.
“We had moments in the second half where we could have got a second goal and two chances we probably should have scored.
“But, overall, I could not say it was a game we dominated.”
While Alexander has been happy with a lot of his side’s performances, he is working hard with the players to put right some of the shortcomings from recent games.
“In recent weeks, we have been doing a lot right up until the final third,” he added.
“We had a couple of opportunities in the second half we should have scored but there was not a lot else.
“But, in other games, we have had a lot of chances but not had the final product.
“It is something we have tried to work on in the last few days when we have been able to train and give the players a bit of direction as to what we need to improve on. But it does not get fixed overnight.
“We cannot have a couple of training sessions and a bit of analysis on it to go from scoring one goal to scoring five.
“You have to create good habits, and I see a team that is honest, works hard and is committed to the work.”
