ALEXANDER FOCUSED ON CITY'S IMPROVEMENT

Graham Alexander wants to see more improvements from his side as they prepare to welcome Doncaster Rovers to the University of Bradford Stadium this weekend.

The Bantams look to return to winning ways after surrendering a one-goal lead to draw at Colchester United last Saturday.

With the reverse fixture only being played just four weeks ago, the City boss is expecting the visitors to be determined to get a result this time around.

“I went to watch Doncaster on Tuesday night and I thought they played well,” he said.

“Grant (McCann) has changed a few things in their formation and how they set up.

“They have their threats; they have certain individuals who are really good.

“They will be determined as we only played them four or five weeks ago.

“But we have to focus on the improvements we have to make.

“If we make those improvements, we put ourselves in the best position to win the game.”

Alexander has been frustrated with some of City’s recent results despite the positive performances.

He is dedicated to helping his players make small improvements to show more of the good work they have been doing since his appointment.

“After the disappointing way it ended in Colchester, we went into a lot of the data from since the Notts County game,” he added.

“We showed the players what had worked for us, but also what we still had to improve on.

“We conceded a goal out of almost nothing at Colchester, which was down to small mistakes in the build-up.

“It was not one person making a big mistake for the goal, but three little tactical mistakes which lead to it.

“We immediately went back to what we have been doing and were in no trouble for the rest of the game.

“That is how dangerous it can be if you lose your focus for 10 seconds. You can get punished.

“When we looked over the game, we felt it was one that overall we should have won, but we want to get into those finer details.

“We also wanted to strengthen the players' mindsets and show them what we have been doing in recent games as well, and show them the work they have been doing.”
