The Bantams salvaged a late point at the University of Bradford Stadium, battling back to earn a 1-1 draw against Doncaster Rovers.

As a tame first half drew to a close, the visiting side took the lead on the stroke of half-time through Luke Molyneux, but City fought back after the break and substitute Tyler Smith netted his 11th goal of the season.

In what was a cagey opening 20 minutes, City’s and the game's best chance came via Tyreik Wright. Alex Gilliead got the better of Jamie Sterry down the Bantams' left-hand side and whipped a ball into the visitors' penalty area, where Wright met the ball, but saw his effort go wide of the mark.

Just after the half-hour mark, Andy Cook latched onto a misplaced pass, but saw his effort saved well by Thimothée Lo-Tulala, as City tried to build momentum in the game.

Although the Bantams had chances, it was the away side who opened the scoring just as the sides entered the added minutes of the first half.

Harrison Biggins played a ball into Molyneux’s path, who beat the offside trap and proceeded to slot home a left-footed effort to give Rovers the lead heading into the break.

In a tepid start to the second half, the Bantams continued to push forward in search of a equaliser, but the visiting side remained a threat on the counter. Their best chance came from Hakeeb Adelakun, who saw his effort saved by Sam Walker.

Walker had to be alert shortly after to keep the score at 1-0. James Maxwell’s sweetly-struck left-footed volley was tipped over the bar, before City dealt with the resulting corner.

The Bantams rallied and came close to equalising through Cook, just after the 80th minute. Lewis Richards’ cross was whipped to the back post, where Cook met it with his head, but a combination of the post and Lo-Tutala kept the effort out.

Only minutes later, the hosts got the equaliser their second-half performance deserved, through substitute Smith.

Harry Chapman got the better of his defender from out wide, swinging a ball to the near post where Smith met it to finish emphatically and drag City level.

The hosts continued to push forward, looking for a late winner, but were unable to grab a second and take all three points home.
