City recorded a comfortable away victory over Accrington Stanley, leaving the Wham Stadium 3-0 victors.

It was a strong performance from the first minute as Graham Alexander's side started quickly. Three first half goals, two from Tyriek Wright and one from Andy Cook, did the job.

City’s first chance came within the first 30 seconds of the match. Captain Richie Smallwood - returning from suspension - delivered a good ball to the back post but it was just a yard ahead of Tyreik Wright.

Wright would be able to put this right as just 12 minutes in he would net the opening goal of the game. He hammered his effort home from an Andy Cook flick on as City took a deserved lead.

City scored their second just 10 minutes later. Lewis Richards hurled a throw towards Cook on the edge of the area, who did well to disguise and let the ball run through his legs straight to Wright who smashed a second past Radek Vitek.

It was three goals before the break for City, as they made sure of the points 38 minutes in. Sam Walker's long punt forward was flicked on into Cook's path by an Accrington defender. Cook made no mistake for his 16th goal of the season.

The Bantams continued their free-flowing attacking football into the second half, and came close to scoring a fourth on a few occasions. Substitute Calum Kavanagh saw an effort well saved after some neat football in the 55th minute.

City played out the last half-hour in control with a comfortable margin against their opposition. Jamie Walker made his return from injury off the bench late on and had to be denied a place on the scoresheet by the goalkeeper who stopped his half-volley at the near post.

Three goals it remained, though, and over 2,000 travelling Bantams were sent home happy with a 3-0 victory.
