OVER £4,000 RAISED FOR BURNS UNIT

15 May 2024

Bradford City AFC is delighted to announce that a total of £4,176.71 has been donated to Bradford’s Plastic Surgery and Burns Research Unit (PSBRU), following last month’s game against Newport County.

The match, City’s annual memorial fixture, saw bucket collectors appealing for cash donations for the unit, formed in the wake of the Valley Parade Fire Disaster, on what was the day of the club’s annual memorial fixture ahead of the 39th anniversary of the tragedy.

Over £4,000 was raised on the day, and has been donated to PSBRU, along with a further total of £1,130.36, collected by and donated on behalf of Co-op Funeralcare, at the annual memorial service in Centenary Square marking the 39th anniversary of the disaster, on Saturday.

This takes the total figure donated to PSBRU this year to £5,307.07 and counting. Georgia Thornton from the Bradford City Ribbons appeal will also be announcing a total fundraising amount in due course, which will be sent to PSBRU, having been present at the Newport fixture and the annual memorial service.
