Kevin joined the Bantams in the summer of 2023 on an initial two-year deal after the expiry of his contract at Exeter City.

The Scot began his career in his home country at Dundee, where after breaking through the youth team, featured 90 times, scoring 14 goals.

The experienced midfield then had spells at various clubs in the EFL, including stints at Burnley, Sheffield United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

A regular at Molienuex as Wolves were promoted back to the Championship, McDonald then joined Fulham where he tasted more promotion - beating Aston Villa in the play-off final in 2018.

Born in 1988, McDonald recently came back from a chronic kidney disease that kept him sidelined for six months, before rejoining Dundee for a month in 2022.

The 6ft 4ins midfielder returned to English football in January 2023, joining Sky Bet League One outfit Exeter City, scoring three times in 11 matches.

McDonald also enjoyed a stint as caretaker player-manager of the Bantams, following the departure of Mark Hughes in October 2023, where he took charge of seven games, winning four, before returning to playing duties for the remainder of the 23/24 season.
