Mark is an experienced manager who has taken charge of over 600 games throughout his career - including more than 450 in the Premier League.
He has also finished in the top 10 in the top-flight of English football on eight separate occasions.
Hughes has previously had managerial spells with the Welsh national team, Blackburn Rovers, Manchester City, Fulham, Queens Park Rangers, Stoke City, and Southampton.
In his playing days, the Welshman had multiple spells at Manchester United, as well as spending time at Barcelona, Bayern Munich (loan), Chelsea, Southampton, Everton, and Blackburn Rovers.
He scored 224 goals throughout his playing career.
