Bradford City AFC has been listed ninth out of the 92 professional English clubs, earning a Bronze award in the 2023/24 Think Fan Engagement Index.

Last season’s finish represents a four-place rise from City’s 13th-placed finish the season before, with results from the 2022/23 season released at the same time.

Ninth is the Bantams’ equal-highest finish since the index was introduced, matching their ninth-placed finish in 2021/22, when they were ranked inside the top 10 for the very first time.

The review ranks each of the 92 professional clubs in England based on fan experience and engagement, scoring ‘dialogue’, ‘governance’ and ‘transparency’, and is compiled annually by Think Fan Engagement.

This year, City carded a total of 160 points, which is the club’s highest-ever score. This includes 80 for dialogue - the joint-highest rating in this category - and 35 for governance and 45 for transparency.

Kevin Rye, director of Think Fan Engagement, said: “The thing that stands out with Bradford City is consistency.

“Since breaking into the top echelon of clubs, they have kept doing the things that got them there: engaging at every level with fans, and ensuring that has real impact in the way the club is run day to day.

“They engage well with matchgoing fans, representatives including the the Bradford City Supporters Trust. They provide a standalone supporter services website and effective two-way social media.”
